The Designer

Nimi’s passion for fashion started as a teenager growing up in the oil-rich city of Port Harcourt, Southern Nigeria in the mid-90s. He was fond of cutting up pieces from magazines and creating paper-paste lookbooks of styles and ensembles that looked cool. He fell in love with Jeans, which was a staple in every wardrobe at the time and it became his favorite fabric to design. 

Inspired by designers like Dapper Dan and Virgil Abloh he started out designing his clothes in college, making eccentric custom pieces with denim, leather, and other fabrics. His designs were loved by many and he went ahead to launch his custom brand, Jackets By Nimi, where he customizes upcycled denim jackets by painting, distorting, and sculpting them. He has been globally recognized for his creativity and innovation in design, earning his stripes as a leader in the category as his clientele ranges from famous West African celebrities to Hollywood actors and athletes.

 He is highly sought-after by stakeholders and investors in the fashion industry for consultations and creative directorship.
