Para – 2023
$2,380.00
‘PARA’, much like ‘JAPA’, explores the frustrations of Nigerian youth, particularly those who, unlike their affluent or fortunate peers, cannot leave the country. As Nigeria’s economic conditions worsen with each regime, more young people aspire to escape through the JAPA movement. However, only a select few succeed, as Western nations have tightened immigration policies in response to the surge of African migrants. This crackdown has left countless youth stranded in their homeland, deepening their frustration. The overwhelming sense of powerlessness drives many into a state of anger and disillusionment, where even the temporary escapes of drugs, alcohol, and extravagance offer no solace.
